Again, none of this is directed at you, I appreciate your honesty. This anger isn't directed at you, I appreciate your feedback. But apparently modifying Doom maps is immoral. I've seen resources from Doom, Doom 2, Doom 3, Duke Nukem, Blood, Shadow Warrior, Blake Stone, Wolfenstein, Quake, Quake 2, and about a thousand other games. I'll try making the maps from scratch, because apparently this is an issue, even though people steal resources from other games for their wads. People play OG Doom all the time, I'd like to make it all pretty. Map03 was such a confusing clusterfuck I gave up on it. Knee Deep in ZDoom, to me, doesn't feel anything like OG Doom after map01. But both mentioned projects are much more than "a slightly modified IWAD maps".Īlright, I guess it's a no-go. People in general prefer projects like The Doom Tribute and Knee-Deep in ZDoom. I don't think adding some decorations and colored lighting to the existing map without editing the geometry is good idea.

These are not only cool to watch, but add an interesting spin to the matches.To be honest, sounds not interesting. The many glory kills combined with the classic BD fatalities were the PWAD's highlights for me. In any way, it's worth checking Brutal Doom: Black Edition out at least for a change. Also, the gameplay is well balanced, unlike some other similar projects we see around. However, it has some original elements and is very well done, with a bunch of original elements and good visuals, and everything is combined harmoniously. In fact, the difficulty level, one of the highlights of the mod, is similar to that of Insanity's Brutality or Insanity's Requiem. In the end, this PWAD ends up being another Brutal Doom variant that, at first, looks like more of the same. There is an explanation for each of them, but I can not help to not find it rather confusing. I just found the names of the menu a bit weird. The maps turn can turn into a real war zone. These extra game options can be interesting to vary the matches or even make a any mess in the game. In the other hand, I didn't really like collecting the Berserk Pack or the Demon Rune (which drops a lot) because you get stuck with the fists only, while the effect lasts, and this is annoying. Also, the glory kills provide a lot of fun with the fatalities, as this ends getting essential to survive in the game, since it kills the monsters for good and makes you invulnerable for a few moments. I really liked the Doom 3 and Doom 4 elements combined here, such as the flashlight, glory kills and the Soul Cube system, which can even activate a power that makes the screen turn white and you blow everything up.
